Walt Disney World

Our family took our first trip to Walt Disney World at the end of May. The girls had a great time. It truly was a magical experience!

All Aboard! We traveled to Florida on the Amtrak Auto Train.

Our first night in Orlando, we went to Downtown Disney, where we ate dinner and enjoyed browsing the shops and sites.

One day, we rode with the driver in the front of the Monorail. Sadie and Sophie thought they were hot stuff!!!

The girls enjoyed meeting all their favorite Playhouse Disney friends!

We had lots of fun visiting all the Disney parks.

Getting ready for the Bug's Life 3D show.

These wild ones belonged in a cage!!!

Waiting to enter the Haunted Mansion. When inside, it was quite Biblical...weeping and gnashing of teeth!

Getting ready to go for a spin in a teacup.

Sadie LOVED (not) the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. She had been talking about it for weeks. I don't think she quite knew what she was getting into!

Taking a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
It's a Small World! Sophie could hardly contain her excitement.
We had lots of fun meeting all the characters throughout the parks.

One of the highlights of the trip was meeting some of the Princesses.

On our last night there, we had dinner with friends from the 100 Acre Wood. We told them that we were celebrating Sadie's birthday (which was 2 days later) and she got a special birthday card that was signed by Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore.

Our First Boating Trip

Our family enjoyed our first day of boating since joining the Carefree Boat Club. We cruised around Washington DC and the Potomac River. The weather was perfect...sunny and almost 85 degrees, a real treat for April. We are looking forward to our next outing in Annapolis, MD next weekend.

Cruising past the Lincoln Memorial, with the Washington Monument in the distance.

The Captain!
There's the Kennedy Center in the background.

A Wedding In Atlanta

On Friday, April 18th, we drove 10 hours to Atlanta for the wedding of Amy's cousin Kelly. We had a great time visiting with family that we don't get to see very often. We danced the afternoon away and had a great time. Then on Sunday, we hopped back in the car for the ride back home. The long trip was worth it!
Pappy playing the Sophie guitar!

Sophie dancing with Grammy.

Sophie enjoyed her "Grown-Up" drink, a Shirley Temple.

Sadie had a ball dancing with Amy's cousin Haley.

Cousin Molly had fun dancing and playing with the big girls.

Sophie REALLY enjoyed her "Air Force" blue cupcake!

Sophie and her buddy, Aunt Allison. Notice Sophie's lips are still blue from that cupcake!

SMILE!

Sophie danced 'til she dropped!

Easter Play

Sadie and Sophie were members of the cast of an Easter Play at our church. The play "Always With You" was written by a man from our church. The girls were part of the "Sparrow Choir" that sang a short song at the beginning of each scene. Sophie played the Rare Black Sparrow that looked eerily like a peacock!
Great Job Girls!

We celebrated the Risen Lord this morning at a vibrant service at our church, Church of the Word Gainesville. Sadie and Sophie sported their Easter bonnets along with their new dresses which Grandma Aram bought.

"Little Bono"

Sophie is ready to head off to Where the Streets Have No Name!

Jump Rope for Heart

Sadie's school participated in Jump Rope for Heart, which is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. In addition to raising $210, Sadie was the top jumper in her class. The top jumper from each class was featured in an assembly.
